Wilderness Trips - Mountains, Lakes and Rivers

Poma Outfitting's customized pack and fly fishing trips are conducted in the wilderness regions in and around the majestic San Juan Mountains, the highest mountain range in North America. Adventurers who participate in a Piedra Packing and Outfitting wilderness excursion will have the opportunity to fish many alpine lakes, including Granite Lake, Hossick Lake, and the Divide Lakes, and fly fish William's Creek and the Pine and Weminuche Rivers, teeming with several varieties of fresh-water trout. Known for its Rainbow trout, it is surrounded by beautiful Aspen and Spruce, and four Forest Service campgrounds are located in the near vicinity of the reservoir. The San Juan and Piedra Rivers are located in the Continental Divide area of the San Juan National Forest, and offer the ideal environment for summer fly fishing. There are also three spectacular waterfalls in the area surrounding Pagosa Springs: Treasure Falls, Piedra Falls, and Four Mile Falls.
